Easy Installation Bathtub Safety Rail

Aug 12th

Installation of bathtub safety rail is an easy project that can be completed with some basic tools. Rails can be purchased at any building supply store. Place one foot on wall where you want to install a bathtub safety rail. Once located, mark wall with a pencil or marker. If tile prevents you from finding a stallion, take your best guess based on construction of house. For example, if there is a second floor bathroom, locate a stud on first floor directly below and take your best guess at where same post is up. If this is not possible, noting that studs are typically 16 inches away. So try to locate other amounts in bathroom and determine space between them to locate a stud.

Place rail on wall and mark where holes for mounting screws are required. Drill holes 1/2 inch deep. Place plastic anchors into holes. Typically, anchors are provided with rail, but you may have to buy separately.  Align bathtub safety rail on anchors. Hold it in place as tight as possible and then put screws. Make sure that railway is safe. Then, bathroom caulk or sealant around edges is placed to prevent water from entering. Let dry for at least four hours before using shower or bath.
